TECH INCLINED: Things To Look Out For When Buying A New Smartphone

In a fast-paced world, tech sounds like the norm even to a toddler, makes me wonder if it really matters to own the latest phone on the market.

For a tech savvy, it doesn’t matter, so long as there’s room for an extra phone once a new one launches. On the other hand, one might opt for a classic, less expensive smartphone that can serve personal and business purposes.

If you asked me, I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t get a quality phone (even if it’s latest phone) when it’s affordable and less complex to use.

Smartphones: Then and Now

Before the arrival of highly functional phones, what we had at our disposal were basic phones (not worthy to be called a smartphone) to access the internet and store few informations.

Now we have sophisticated devices that are not just focused at storage and internet access, but for luxury and aesthetic use. With these awesome features, you may worry about buying a new smartphone every year.

This brings us to the next question; what should you be looking out for when buying a new smartphone? For me, a smartphone that has a large storage capacity, stellar camera and a bulky battery life is the guy for the job.

Things To Look Out For Before Buying A New Smartphone

1.   Display

Display is everyone when it comes to buying a smartphone. If you want to enjoy the luxury ofnabbright screen display that gives you enough light to read in the darkest room and sufficient text sharpness, you’ll have to pick wisely

It all depends on what you want; if you want a smartphone for movies you can go do a 1920 x 1080p resolution or a 2560 x 1440 Quad HD if your in for sharp display. Most people prefer smartphones with smaller display (for convenience).

2.   Camera

If you have a flare for taking pictures, you would need a smartphone that has a good camera for bright and low light conditions.

There are few questions to ask;

  • Can it take a portrait picture?
  • Does it have a light sensor?
  • What’s the pixel capacity of the lens?
  • Is it quad, triple, double, or single camera?

All of these has to be considered. For a person like me who loves taking pictures, I’d say a 45MP rear camera is fine. Whatever you’re going for, make sure it’s within your budget capacity.

3.   Battery

How would you feel if you own a new smartphone that cannot last the entire day on average use? Not even half the day!

Before you invest in any smartphone, know what the battery capacity is. If you’re a busy person, you’ll need a phone with a stronger battery say 4000mmAh or 5000mmAh

4.   Storage

Thankfully, almost every new smartphone on the market has a good storage capacity which means that you have a broad option to make your choice from.

This aspect depends on what you want to use your phone for. Some phone owners will say they are fine with a 32GB storage phone while some will go all the way for a 512GB.

5.   Company’s Repute

Why should you buy a smartphone that has no recognized manufacturer? Household names like Samsung, Apple, and LG are a safe place to put your money if you’re in for quality.

Make sure you do your homework well before investing on any smartphone you’re not familiar with.
